There is a transmission mode now known as "Trip Plexing" that appears to be
able to send a transmission without its carrier being detectable.  It is
thought that Trip Plexing doesn't use a carrier.  Not much about this
technique is known other than the increase in cosmic background radiation and
that its apparently in use by the criminal component of society, the
technology being used by criminals without the signals intelligence of
Western nations knowing how it works exactly.  Its thought to have originated
from the Soviet Union and being passed on to the underground upon the union
dissolving.  Furthermore the network of criminals that use Trip Plexing often
have transceiver utilities on boats.  Apparently having the transceivers on
boats works well because the signal dissapates into non-detection within
about one or two kilometers so the source of the transmission can be shielded
from detection.

Something to think about... science is weird.
