Subj : Small Group Cell Structures: How They Work To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Tue Apr 25 2023 16:05:31 There are two types of cell groups, the first being covert cells and the second church cells. Covert cells are different than Church cells primarily from the information that they are protecting, the first organizational security and the second religious freedom. Both have as their main goal the privacy of the participants from a perceived threat either physical, legal, or social. In some countries you can face the death penalty for becoming Christian in a Muslim society. They are very serious, even having beheadings taken place. Obviously people don't want to be beheaded and so they try to form bonds with fellow people of the same ideas and beliefs, and these bonds keep the members safe from harm due to mutual protection, from one member to the other. Meetings take place in safe houses where people can feel safe to participate in Bible studies or covert organization. Some of the most effective cell structures were formed by the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during WWII. Their adventures are detailed in the book released by the National Archives, and distributed to North America under the title of "How to be a Spy." It contains the full manual used by SOE operatives while in training before they went out into occupied Europe. What made for their success was their compartmentalization, where only the leaders of cells knew of contact information to any other cell. Security breaks down when a lot of people who don't have a need to know these sorts of information a privy to them. The less folks that know these things the safer the cell groups are. Undoubtedly there will be infiltrators; its best to minimize the harm that they could cause by minimizing their access to information. If a person doesn't know a piece of information, that is one less piece of information that will be compromised in the case of a leak. Each member of the cell or team will be given a duty to perform with perhaps one other member being versed on how to take over that function in the case of a compromise where the person who initially was in charge of the job having been made unable to perform that job due to compromisation or illness or something like that. Talking about how cool it is to have your own secret cell group should be encouraged within that group, but there should be a very definite rule that it should never be spoken of at all, whatsoever, outside of that group. If the opposition doesn't even know that there is an adversary that will be one less group on their radar. Your cell group can't get in trouble from an investigation by the enemy force if your group isn't even known to exist. Again, I'll make that point one more time: you can't be exposed if there is zero knowledge about your operation; existing in secret is a very good way to stay safe from harm. You can't be exposed if there is nothing known to expose. "Loose Lips Sink Ships" is a good verse to take to heart. It can save you a lot of worry if you can manage to Shut The Expletive Up. If you'd like to know more about cell groups and how to make one of your own, then check out "Running a Ring of Spies" by Paladin Press. Paladin Press has recently gone under and you can now find full PDFs of the entire line of books that they published on archive.org. I warn you though, some of their publications are highly offensive and evil, so use extreme caution. As for cell groups, what do you have to say about them? Please respond to this message with tips and suggestions of your own to add to the conversation.
