Subj : Facebook and Smartphones? To : All From : poindexter FORTRAN Date : Sun Feb 03 2019 09:06:40 OK, we've all heard the Facebook stories concerning data mining, and most recently using their enterprise certificates to push IOS apps like their Research app that strip-mined kids' phones of data. I went to a party in my home town yesterday, saw some old high-school friends of mine. I didn't have the party in my calendar, or any information at all. Spoke to a friend, Dean, who I hadn't seen in some time at great length. I spoke to his cousin, and we planned to meet up for drinks some time. I texted her my number, and she texted me hers. The next morning, I went onto Facebook, and Dean was at the top of the list of suggested contacts. The only thing I could think of is that FB could connect my text history with their user database, and that my friend and his cousin were connected. My friend and I have some common friends, which could connect the dots between us. Or, it's just a coincidence? --- SBBSecho 3.06-Win32 * Origin: http://realitycheckbbs.org (700:100/20) .
