If you break down the actual avenues of influences, weight them by relative influence, you will find that the typical American Politician is a tool of the influencers (aka Banksters and IC) and disconnected from the actual voters.

Imaginary fantasy is the reason we frame their responsibilities being focused on those they represent.  They will gaslight us close to elections and revert to being open representatives of their paying (and blackmailing) masters once reelected.
