Perhaps, but more likely that the voters are barely relevant when the system allows for artificial voters/vote/counts.

Once if was you could trust God, Country, Family and Friends, albeit in varying levels of confidence.

Now it is that what is being presented to us as God, Country, Family and Friends is reframed/manipulated that truly "who can you trust?"

Like living in Orwell's 1984, Rand's Anthem and all with Pink Floyd music setting the mood....
