I watched a documentary a while ago and they were describing a clothing store
that practiced with subliminal messaging through their sound system. 
Naturally I found this intriguing so I studied more into it.  If I recall
correctly the increase of sales was at least 20% when the subliminal messages
were mixed with the music, way above what is considered stastically
significant (which is anything greater than 5%).  In short their test was
successful and I take it that in some stores they are practicing this up to
this very day.
