Subj : Very Poor Operational Security To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Wed Mar 22 2023 23:20:01 Just putting this out there... I heard from an old acquaintance that he got paid around $800 a week for intelligence collection. The problem was that its the same dollar amount every single week. So lets say that "bob" earns $812.34 each week. By knowing that exact dollar amount you could infiltrate the financial institutions, search for all deposits that equals exactly that amount noted and you have a trail to *every* low-level intelligence worker. This should be remedied by paying a base wage of $800 and adding a random number from $0 to $50 to randomly change up the monies going out. To prevent situations like this you need to consider how criminals think, how you could be exposed by a bad actor that you might think will never happen, but if you don't plan to prepare you plan on failing. Murphy's Laws should always be consulted when thinking upon things like this: If it can be borked it will be borked. Things that will never happen, always happen to at least some degree. The perfect secret will be exposed, out-moding the locks that you think are in place.
