From being a manager to being a leader is a great chasm; they are not the > same and are often at odds with one another. This is probably one of the most important truths I have learned over the last 16 months. I have been running companies for the past 22 years and up until very recently it has been 20% leadership and 80% management. As you can imaigine, this has led me to run companies that were unimaginagitive and stagnated in mediocrity. They earned money sure but they all plateaud or crashed and burn and my latest pivot was one intended to break that cycle, only it made me realize that I hadn't actually developed any leadership abilities in my career. What a f'ing wake up call this was, so now I begin the slow climb out of the hole I've dug for myself to learn this lesson > A great book on leadership that I have found follows: > "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie Agree, I read this 5-6 years ago and need to go back to it 2 or 20 more times. Great post btw, I'd love to hear more about what you do and how you employ and prioritize leadership in your day to day. --- SBBSecho 3.20-Win32 * Origin: realitycheckBBS.org -- information is power.
