Subj : Lest We Forget - In Flanders Fields To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Fri Nov 11 2022 00:16:02 In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, Poet and Physician, from Guelph, Ontario, Canada ------- In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. -------- Please remember the sacrifices that those before us gave it all that we might live in freedom. In memory of the fallen, this message has been written. Be sure to stand in remembrance of those who have let us live in free countries the world over in their sacrifice of their very lives for you and for me. Tomorrow is Remembrance Day, at 11am wherever you are take two minutes and stand in silence in remembrance. God bless the Armed Forces to defend our freedom: those past, present, and future soldiers who gave of themselves, that our freedom has been won.
