Only thing you have to go on is what is shown in movies and those are just
monsters made up to scare the kids.

Going to be the second part of that, not everyone is ready to believe there
are other beings out there with intelligence outside our own.  Honest would
not be shocked if they are walking among us either as human or otherwise.
