I used UUCP (UUPC on DOS) and GIGO for my email/newsgroup feed in the mid 1990s. This worked well, until my provider at the time ceased providing UUCP services. I then had to resort to a different setup (with a new domain!) using SMTP and NNTP under OS/2, and later, managed to get it working under Windows using the MDaemon mail server, which only required minor data massaging and moving files to/from GIGO's working areas. ....
