In addition to MTCP and Telnet, I was using RLFossil to take incoming calls to some test DOS BBS setups and it worked great. I never thought I would find ANYTHING that would provide inbound telnet for DOS BBSing but there it was, waiting for me to find it :-) I agree with you, running an older version of Linux doesn't feel like anything special, but DOS certainly does. Looking back at the older versions of some of the BBS software out there, it seems the prime year for addons/doors was around 1993. While it is difficult to license the older stuff these days, it's still out there.
