The Pi is certainly something I have considered. I have one of the later ones
with WiFi that was given to me by my university but I do still like the idea
of the WiFi232 in that its a convenient device that just sits in the serial
port with no extra cables or setup required. 
But it still could be a good use for a Pi I have done nothing with for over a
year. Something quite amusing about using a computer that is many times more
powerful than the amiga as essentially a modem :)
