Because they wanted to have something that they can touch ;) The same reason why I have a commodore 128 with a 1541 Ultimate II and I am not using a Raspberry with VICE. bc> A Pi will do it with VICE and there must be off shoots of the original bc> 6502 that would do it as well - So why recreate a chip with an bc> expensive FPGA? Because you can ;)) And because they have learned very much from doing so. Actually they came up with a great design that even has a Hypervisor ;) I am thinking of buying a FPGA devboard ... just to play around. There are some nice small ones (25-45 USD). But then again ... you can go big, and buy the Nexys that the Mega65 guys used .... but 300 EUR is too much for me for playing around a few hours, and then throw it into the corner :)))) CU, Ricsi --- GoldED+/LNX * Origin: Anyone who remembers the 60's wasn't there (80:774/18) .
