Subj : WiModem To : All From : Richard Menedetter Date : Mon Dec 26 2016 18:43:00 Hi All! I just bought a WiModem ;) It is basically an ESP8266 with level converters (3.3 to 5v) and a AT interpreter. You connect it to the userport, and communicate via the serial interface. It supports 300,1200,2400 and 9600 baud. You can control it via AT commands, so you can connect it to your Wifi, and "dial" DNS names. eg. ATDTbbs.commodo.re:23 You should also be able to use it to connect to commodore server virtual 1541 and also Quantum Link (it has a spoof number feature, you tell it a number, and if that is dialed, it will connect to a specified DNS name instead) You can also connect to other TCP services (eg webservers). Currently answering incoming "calls" is not yet supported, but will be in the future. The firmware is upgradeable online. Mine comes with a nice 3d printed case and a RGB LED. There is also a version with a small display, but there is not much value to the display. Sadly it will take 3+ weeks for it to arrive (bought on ebay from an austrailian guy). If you are interested I can describe my experience with it here. CU, Ricsi --- GoldED+/LNX * Origin: Dragonslayer needed. Immediate position available (80:774/18) .
