Same here. My first computer was a C64. I got mine from a recycling
center for free in 1995 complete with disks, power supply, and a 1541 II disk
drive.
Then there was the mystery on how to run it. No one I asked in my area knew
how to run it. It was before the time I was on the internet so there was a
lot of trial and error. Then one of the disks said LOAD"PROGRAM NAME",8 and I
was all set. 
I got a VIC 20 also around that time.
Then in 2011 I bought a Commodore PET 4016. And in 2014 I got a PET 2001 8K.
After all these years the C64 is still going strong.
