Maximus has its own internal FSE.  It is a real PITA to get Maximus to
use an external editor (it's not mentioned in the internal
documentation but it can be done).  Like I said, only in the past year
or so have I seen a sudden interest in more kludges like this ... but
it's not something I feel is needed in a 40 year old technology.
