First, the title for the totaled out vehicle was in the glove compartment. That is NOT the place to have it, because if it's stolen, the thugs have what they need to sell it. But, after finding it, I took it to Allstate (my insurance company), and after providing a copy of my Mom's death certificate, I sent the title to this company in central Arkansas, that dealt with "total loss claims". I told them I did NOT want to send it via the Postal Service (they agreed, noting the Postal Service was "losing titles left and right"). So, they gave me a physical address, and I sent it overnight via FedEx. The settlement (much more than I expected) was in the bank that afternoon. Yet, a good part of that went to pay the sales tax on a 2009 Volvo 2 door hardtop convertible. I took the car back to the dealership for follow-up service Monday...I am using Uber to get back and forth right now. Second, I have been getting chiropractic care since the day after the wreck. A week ago, I was at 52% recovered, and 61% this past Monday. But, I'm still very restricted in movement in some areas. I have made enough progress to where I get treatment 3 days a week instead of 4 (Mondays are the basic exam day, without any treatment). But, the goal is 90%, so I have a ways to go. Geico (the insurance company of the guy charged in the wreck) won't offer a settlement until the chiropractic work is done...and that may be early March. At least I was able to "walk away from the wreck". But, with not resting well at night, the chiropractic appointments, and things outside the BBS, I've had little time to logon and do QWK Mail.
