Subj : Health Issues To : Sean Dennis From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat Oct 24 2020 21:33:00 Sean, SD> I want to say hello and welcome to all of the new nodes! Unfortunately SD> this week has been full of personal issues that I've had to deal with SD> so BBSing has fallen to the wayside. I had that here yesterday. First, we had thunderstorms in the area (some were severe). Second, I had been experiencing possible symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT - blood clots in the legs), so upon advice from my PCP's nurse, I went to the ER. They were packed to the rafters, and while I arrived at 5pm Friday, it was 3am Saturday before I got released. I also had abdominal and testicular pain on the way (I drove myself), so they determined I was "a moderate risk for a DVT". Plus, with the abdominal and testicular pain, they decided to do both a CT scan, plus ultrasounds of both legs, and the scrotum (at times, testicular pain can indicate possible kidney stones). They first drew blood (ended up doing it twice), then installed an IV. Then, it was the ultrasounds and the CT scan. At least the gel was warm, but that dye with the CT scan gave "the nice warm feeling", but I thought I'd pee or poop on the table. :P The diagnosis was NOT a DVT...but severe epididymytis...common for men who've had vasectomies. I don't think any other surgeries can be done in that regard. But, I felt it was better to cost a few shekels to check to be sure... than to risk it costing my life, had it been a DVT. Daryl ....
