yeah but now that i'm around that age i don't know of any people in that age bracket that would do such a petty thing.
i guess he had some mental problems.

Either way his bbs didn't last long after that because it was the mid 90s.
I looked him up and he has no online footprint. so he lives in his house and
does whatever and he's in his 70s now.

yeah, that's how it was when i would fix people's computers or setup something complicated for them.  they'd screw it up or just get a cable unplugged and I would drive there to fix it.

With bbsing i did a LOT of support over the years. and i just found out that doing it for them over teamviewer or vnc was a lot quicker.
Otherwise i was up until 3am when I had to wake up at 5:30am-6pm for work.
That's another habit i was glad to cast away.

People don't really *need* help. You can point them in the right direction but if people don't have the heart they won't last. the best way to learn is by doing it hands on.
