Sometimes, they have to notify the Air Force.  When I worked at a satellite
communications company near Atlanta, we had a 313' tall antenna tower.  The
warning light burnt out once at 3 AM so I was on the phone calling the FAA
and the Air Force since we were on the direct approach path for
Hartsfeld-Jackson Airport (the busiest in the world).
