Exactly. All the more reason to look at an image-based backup solution.

When you backup your system you expect a solution that will backup everything
and that should mean to include the entire state of the system, OS, programs,
registry etc... So when the image is restored, you are back to the exact 
moment in time the image was taken.

Unless you enjoy reinstalling your OS and all your programs ;)
