That said, nowadays there are laptop manufacturers distributing Linux machines with full software support. They are usually quite niche, though. I bet most Linuxers and BSDers would rather install their operating system of choice in an old Wintel computer than paying premium for the privilege of using a pre-installed, supported version of the same system in a new machine.
