Subj : Never do a system full u To : Sean Dennis From : Daryl Stout Date : Fri Jul 09 2021 21:50:00 Sean, DS> I saw a deal from Best Buy today, where apparently Windows 11 will be DS> 64-bit ONLY. But, I understand Windows 10 will be supported into DS> sometime in 2025. I just hate to lose all the legacy doors. SD> You don't have to. Use NTVDMx64. I have talked about it here in SD> Micronet before. SD> http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/otvdm.html SD> I'd recommend using the Inno Setup installer: SD> http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/OtvdmSetup.exe I saved the info, and will look at it another day. I was busy with the Trains Net tonight, and have to do a license exam session in the morning, before storms arrive Saturday night into Monday, which means BBS downtime. The community of Batesville, north-northeast of Little Rock, had both severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings earlier today. SD> I don't have a Windows BBS installed but I was able to run my DOS doors SD> locally without issue as a test under 64-bit Windows 10. Interesting. If that works, then I might look at a new computer for the BBS. But, right now, that's the least of my worries. The bathrooms are to get rebuilt next week, after a plumbing incident 4 months ago. Had I not been involved in a car wreck in January, that wasn't my fault, and had I not had this plumbing issue, I would've had some extra money to work with. SD> One of these days, I will start producing 32-bit Windows doors and SD> hopefully 64-bit Windows doors also (if I can remember how to do the SD> cross-compiling stuff again). Keep me posted on the progress. Daryl .... ASCII and you shall receive -Z. Modem === MultiMail/Win v0.52 --- SBBSecho 3.14-Win32 * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - Little Rock, Arkansas (618:250/33) .
