As you have mentioned, 2FA is overkill for a majority of users.  For more
advanced users and system administrators (which is most of us in BBSing
these days), 2FA can be a good idea.  I was just considering a Yubikey for
reasons I've explained before.  I also like to use my laptop at the public
library and using a Yubikey is just an additional layer of security (I think
of it much like a smart card) for me.
