I'm usually on my workstation to get to the server (which is on the floor
next to me).  I keep my keys in a valet on my nightstand which is less than
a foot behind me; I just turn around and grab them ... which is why I was
thinking about having a Yubikey.

I found the following blog post and it looks like supporting Yubikeys in
Slackware is pretty straightforward:

I took a look in SlackBuilds (a third-party package repo for Slackware) and
there's a few pieces of software that will allow easy personalization of a
Yubikey.  When I get the money to buy one, I'll try it out.
