Horizon View/VMware is really just virtual desktops.  Similar to Citrix and RDP 
in some ways, but you can do fancy things like provision thousands of virtual 
desktops quickly from a master image.  Fantastic technology that will I see 
taking over all physical desktops at some point.  If for no other reason, the 
mobility aspect and being able to use an html-5 browser to control your 
desktop.

That being said, most people are still using RDP to their desktops right now 
because the framework isn't there for a large scale rollout.
