No you don't. ;)

The problem is that ArcaOS does not support exFAT-formatted drives.  If you
format a drive using straight FAT32, it will work just fine, no LVM needed.

There's a third-party program you can use under OS/2 to do it or I just
format the drive under Linux using something like "mkfs.vfat /dev/sdc1".

P.S. There is talk of porting the Linux exFAT driver over but from what I
understand, it's a low priority.
