Interesting, and unfortunate.

I am using DOSBOX-X here to run my DOS BBS instances in.  I don't notice
the same screen flicker with it when going full screen that I remember with
DOSBOX.  Might be something to try if all else fails.  DOSEMU also doesn't
have that flicker but may not be 100% compatable with what you are trying
to do.
