What are you trying to protect?   My BBS is on it's own machine that has 
NOTHING on it.  I have my RGBOT bot blocker frontend running before the BBS, 
and nothing gets thru.  Do I get a bunch of hits on port 23?  Yeah, but it's 
just load RGBOT, esc twice wasn't entered, hangup.   You're putting too much 
effort into this.
