Subj : Fiber To : All From : Digimaus Date : Tue Apr 23 2024 19:58:36 Hi everyone, The federally-funded Affordable Connectivity Plan ends this month due to the lack of money (since the US federal government is busy sending our money all over the world instead of fixing problems). I was able to get 600/600 fiber Internet with no data cap and a public-facing "static" IPv4 address for around $70 a month. I was paying USD$25 for 300/300 with that "static" IP address so I figure if I'm gonna pay, might as well go faster! Once I can get more income coming in, I can upgrade to 1GB/1GB for around USD$90. I do have LAN equipment that can handle gigabit WAN and LAN speeds. I'll be putting in a pfSense box into my LAN that has a 3.4ghz i5 and 8 GB ram in it, including two Intel PRO/1000 PCIe NICs. -- Sean ....
