Subj : Something cool To : Rob Mccart From : Sean Dennis Date : Tue Oct 07 2025 13:37:46 Hello, Rob! Replying to a message of Rob Mccart to SEAN DENNIS: RM> That's interesting. I would wonder given the multiple ways kids have RM> to communicate these days, how many would be interested in that. You'd be surprised. The maker crowd has found out about amateur radio and they love it. RM> I'm sure you can do things with a ham radio that you can't do with RM> other means, so maybe that's a good thing to learn about.. For one thing you can easily use your computer to talk on the air and be able to work (talk to) places that you might not be able to otherwise. RM> ..If you can get their faces out of their phones long enough to RM> teach them anything.. B) No phones allowed at this event. I will be bringing one of my radio setups alone with my QSL card (postcards we hams send each other to verify contacts) collection showing a lot of the contacts I've made over the years. I've been a licensed ham since 1997 and am quite proud of it. I also hold the highest class of amateur radio license available in the US also. -- Sean --- FleetStreet 1.27.1 * Origin: Outpost BBS Local Console * bbs.outpostbbs.net:10323 (618:618/1) .
