Subj : Happy Thanksgiving To : Shawn Highfield From : Sean Dennis Date : Thu Nov 30 2023 08:12:20 SH> Probably, that and the restaurant most likly made money on them. SH> Even if they just had coffee and lunch if you go every day you'd SH> probably eat very little after a while. I've worked at several fast food places that had older, retired customers en masse in the mornings from open (around 0530-0600) to around 1000. They normally didn't buy or eat a lot individually but with them literally filling the dining room, they were always valued cutomers because without them, the restaurant would have a lossy breakfast shift and in order to keep labor costs down, we'd have to send some employees home which was always a Catch-22 because we'd risk being short-handed during a possibly busy lunch time. I got to know a lot of customers that way, and since I usually worked the morning shift, I'd memorize their "usual" order which always tickled them. Belive it or not, sometimes I miss that job. It was fun most of the time and getting to know my customers was something I truly enjoyed. I'm hoping that when I can get a car, I might go a couple of times a week to my favorite places also. I feel so distant from life right now being housebound. -- Sean --- ProBoard v2.17 [Reg] * Origin: Outpost BBS * Johnson City, TN (618:618/1) .
