Have to argue with you on this one.  Picked up a passenger the other day
who told me he shit himself due to food poison.  He was also puking
his guts out in the seat beside me into a vomit bag.  Even with the
window open the smell was getting to me, I put a mask on and I would
say it cut the smell by 99%.  We have the paper 4 layer ones at work.

So the masks DO IN FACT protect you from smelling a fart.

I will go on record and say I do wear a mask whenever I have passengers
even ones who don't shit themselves.  However when driving alone or
even grocery shopping I don't bother with one anymore.
