Hi everyone,

Looks like I'll be spending another week in the hospital but for two very
good reasons.  The first is that I am finally getting treated for the
systemic MRSA infection I picked up from being hospitalized here about
12-13 years ago; I am being pumped full of vancomycin, a powerful antibiotic
that is available via IV only.  The second is the VA is going to remove my
last six teeth and, if things go well, pay to have a set of full dentures
for my mouth.

It would be nice to be able to eat after about 30 years' worth of pain.

As for my heart surgery, after all of the above, I am waiting for an ulcer
to heal on the bottom of my foot that was caused by an infection I picked up
just before Thanksgiving in the US last year.  Once that is good, I will be
cleared to have my triple bypass.

While I am a little nervous about everything, I know I am on the right
course for the second 50 years of my life.
