Telegard has its own issues.  I ran it for a long time--I wrote the original 
documentation on how to get Telegard/2 running under OS/2 and I am credited in 
the documentation as hausmaus--but its lack of support for *.MSG just because 
Tim had a hair up his ass about the format made it a royal pain for me to use 
with IBBS games and having to convert *.MSG-formatted netmail to 
Squish-formatted netmail was really a waste of time.

There were other bugs in it that irritated me so I quit using it though if Tim 
had followed through with its development (and added *.MSG support), I might 
still be using it.
