Same thing here.  I live in Maryland and can drive to Washington DC in under 2 hours (not that I would want to).  

Almost all the companies that exist in that general area exist 100% of the government. We call them the beltway bandits.  That also explains why they are for big government because that is how they exist getting paid lots of money to do very little.
