You are your own boss and the only bullshit you have to take is from customers, but customers pay for the privilege so who cares. The only problem with the plan is that pulling it off is far from trivial. I have a regular wage part-time job in addition to my store and my freelance IT writer for Linux News Media, and the reason why it does not suck is because the boss knows he saves so much money with me (and also there is not much people wanting to deal with our deployments, because I am the only guy who knows how the guts of our systems work). I would not pick a job at a big corporation right now unless the conditions were completely amazing or I was very desperate. Corporations right now are indoctrination centers which make you put up with so much bullshit which is unrelated to the task at hand that it makes me puke. THe training materials delivered by international hopitalary corporations are outright dystopian. -- gopher://gopher.richardfalken.com/1/richardfalken --- SBBSecho 3.15-Linux * Origin: Palantir * palantirbbs.ddns.net * Pensacola, FL * (618:250/24) .
