  I was denied twice, then Janice (my late wife, who you met years ago)
and I got a lawyer, and went before an administrative law judge. Five
months after the hearing, and seven months before her death, they granted
the disability "Fully Favorable". My lawyer was on a contingency basis,
which meant if we lost the case, he wouldn't have gotten paid. But, he told
me afterwards that had we lost, he would've filed suit in federal court. I
guess they figured it'd cost them more if it went that far. Yet, while it's
now over 15 years since the ruling, they keep finding stuff wrong with me.
The latest is atrial flutter/atrial fibrillation. I had to give up things
like tea, candy, chocolate, or anything with caffeine. In doing that, it
stabilized my heart rate (which was up to 155, now controlled with proper
medication), but my migraine headaches are back. I never thought I'd be a
heart patient. But, the medication also is keeping the blood pressure under
control.
