I don't know about Facebook, but I have found that a combination of Privoxy,
Unbound with DNS blacklisting, and ghack's user.js for Firefox, offer a very
clean web experience.

YOu may also replace Firefox with Surf since Firefox is quickly turning into a
mess itself, sadly.
