You must have some other source, or meaning, of "auxilary heat." At my previous house, when the outside AC unit and inside coils needed replacing, I looked at my options and went with the heat pump. Since my house was already set up for gas heat, the gas heat became my auxilary source. That was back when natural gas prices were soaring. I used gas a lot in January, but most other cold months I would guess it was only used 50% at most, and mostly only at night. The rest of the time the heat pump heated the house and it worked very well. If I ever have to replace things here, that is the way I hope to go. * SLMR 2.1a * Acid bath?
