The thing about keeping a wood stockpile and heating that way is
you stay in shape with all that chopping and splitting of the logs.

One house I rented had a oil / wood combo furnace.  I could choose
to use oil or wood.  I found it was at least an hour of work every
day dealing with the wood and as soon as I could afford to fill
the oil tank again I made the call. LOL

You're out walking around anyway, makes sense.

Our backup plan is to hop in the car and idle it with heat until
the building gets power again.
