Is it still there? My Dad had several of them over the years - but for some odd reason since he is much older now, has not had any in decades. Lots of other problems, but not that one. NA> The first time I had them I ended up in the hospital with twice-the-usual NA> dosage of morphine. Me too! I had no idea what the problem was at the time. I was still married to my 1st wife at the time and around 29 or 30 years old. It woke me up in the middle of the night. I thought I had an appendix rupture or something. By the time I got to the ER, the pain was totally gone. It wasn't until they did the tests and they explained to me the situtation that I knew what happened. I will never forgot how they told me. "We have good news and bad news, which would you like first?" I said the good news. The doctor said "You are not going to die". I said ok, that is good. What is the bad news? The bad news is you have a kidney stone, and it is still there. It took over a month to get it to pass and at times I was ready to rip it out with my hands if I could. It went from no pain at all to extreme pain in a matter of seconds. Not fun! This is why I drink water constantly. That is the best way to prevent them. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.52 * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (618:100/12.0) .
