Mind if I ask about the B12 shot?  Where/why do you get it?

A few years back I was having some ailments and ended up seeing a naturopathic doctor out of desperation.  She was "prescribing" stuff left, right & centre, one of them was a B12 shot every other week.

Of all the things she sold me (one was ingesting actual silver and gold) the vitamin B12 shot every other week I actually noticed I felt more aware/alert/awake for that day.  Eventually I stopped going to her because it was very expensive and I wasn't 100% sure I wasn't being taken for a ride.
