Reading August's reply to You and then Your message to Him brought memories back of the Camera Store I hung out at on Saturday mornings in the late 1950's when I was 16 or 17 years old. The Back part of the Camera Store was a High Fidelity Showroom with components made by Fisher, Bogen and others. I remember seeing a Add-On Stereo Head on a Reel to Reel Tape Recorder, iirc it could play Staggered Stereo Tapes. I can't remember if In-Line Stereo Heads were available back then. They had two Electro-Voice Patrician Speaker Systems on one side of the room that they could connect different Amplifiers to, so people could listen to try to decide what Brand Components they were interested in buying. There were other Speaker Systems in the Showroom they could use but the E/V Patrician was the one I drooled over, and when ever someone came for a DEMO I would wander in to listen to the demostration the salesman was giving the prospective customers. I tried not making a pest of myself, I just wanted to listen to STEREO. No one ever asked me to leave the Showroom. whew Next to one of the Patrician Cabinets was a mock up of the 30" Bass Speaker showing how it was constructed. In my memory it was rated from 20 to 200 CPS (Cycles Per Second) FLAT. And that is why I came out of Lurking Mode to write this message. 73 (Best Regards) de (from) Ed W9ODR dit dit ....
