  Good point. I heard that in some areas, there was a shortage of them,
and I'll bet the prices were much higher as a result. Every so often,
I'll still hear some "booms and bangs", but I'm not sure if it's actually
fireworks, firecrackers, gunfire, or blown transformers. If it's the
latter, the lights flicker or go out.
