He changed it just enough to be able to call it his own even though it was
far from anything original.

I've always had better results with other archivers like ARJ, RAR, and such.

It's interesting how the BBS community had a hand in ruining SEA and its
products.

The only reason I use ZIP is because of its defacto standard status. 
Otherwise I'd not use it at all.
