I was going to say your numbers were a bit off but I just checked and their
plans have changed since I signed up about 2 years ago, some changes to the
better and some not as good.

That $50 plan used to have 6 gig of data with two separate bonuses bumping
you to 8.5 gig.

Their $40 Canada Wide & 5 gig plan I believe hasn't changed, which is the
one I am on.

Near as I can tell if you make no changes and use automatic top-up they leave
you with the original plan you had from the start.
