  You're right about that. The reasons the prescription drugs are so high
are:

1) Big Pharma sends out drug representatives to wine and dine the staffs
at clinics, then in exchange for "a free lunch" (so much for Robert
Heinlein's TANSTAFFL), they listen to their product spiel. Some clinics
have "restricted hours" for these "drug reps".

2) The prices for ads in radio, TV, print, and the internet.

  So, they do all they can to keep drugs from going generic.
