I've always assumed that the compression native in bluetooth would defeat the fidelity gained by a DAC.  I know there are some newer bluetooth profiles that are higher fidelity, but I'm assuming there is still some compression there.  Also, it's so difficult to determine what phones and headphones support what bluetooth codecs. 

I have an Oppo HA-2 portable DAC/Headphone amp I used for a time back when I had a commute, but eventually I switched to wireless Bose QuietComfort 35's to simplify things.
